Moffett
Business development in Western Europe
Larry
Moffett is a consultant in international business development
and project management, working in Brussels as managing
partner of e-Strategy, the consulting firm he founded
in 1998. His focus is on European information technology
projects and business incubation. He was the project
manager of IMAGEN (Intelligent Multimedia Application
GENerator), a 2-year collaborative software development
project led by DFKI, the German Research Center for
Artificial Intelligence (www.imagenweb.org). He was
also the technical co-ordinator of the European Multimedia
Forum's EMMA (E-Accelerator) initiative.
He served as expert reviewer of the European Commission's
Best Procedure study "Benchmarking the management
of incubators." His past clients include the Brussels
Region, Hewlett Packard, Baxter, and several Belgian
IT start-ups and SMEs.
He has advised the European Association of Research
Managers and Administrators (EARMA) and the Business
Incubator Association (BIA) Europe.
Previously Larry co-founded and managed a consulting
firm and business software distributor in Germany, marketing
products for U.S. software publishers and performing
competitive analysis for U.S., German and Israeli clients.
A U.S. national born in Italy, Larry speaks fluent French
and Italian and some German. He studied engineering
at Princeton University and the University of California,
Berkeley and holds an MBA from INSEAD.
